Tips to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Coral Cottage (3-Bedroom Villa) by RedAwning has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
