Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Kings Lynn Inn: Walkway to the Intracoastal Waterway, Private Dock, Close to Bea has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a specific Brunswick area beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
