Guests consistently say "ideal location!"

***We newly took back over from the property mgmt company so Vacation Rental By Owner removed our reviews. We have 30 reviews on the other major rental site with an avg of 4.75 stars. Please search for Island Bungalow Wrightsville Beach to read. Here are a few:

Karen: "The location is to die for... amazing street lined with striking homes and friendly people and right on the sound. We walked everywhere from this location. It was fun to see other people walking their dogs, walking to eateries, taking early morning jogs and greeting the sunrise on the beach. We picked up marvelous acai and yogurt bowls from Adapt Kitchen and Juice bar and ate them on a public gazebo looking over the sound. This is the life!"
Stephanie: "As someone who has lived at WB, location is everything. This home is right where you want to be! Loved having the screened in porch. Kristal went above and beyond to accommodate my family and pups needs and was so responsive.."
Tina: "First of all, Krystal was an amazingly responsive and accommodating host. We had all of the info we needed, complete with locals-only suggestions and personal touches to help us savor the beach. The bicycles, fenced yard, darling home and spectacular screened porch made our stay so comfortable! The neighborhood is splendid and the neighbors are incredible. The description is so true, you can walk to everything...and we did! We can’t wait to go back again. Thank you, Krystal!!"

If you want a peaceful, laid-back, private getaway in the middle of the thriving Wrightsville Beach scene, check out this little bungalow! Truly the best of both worlds, this 2 bedroom, 1 and ½ bath bungalow is located on a peaceful neighborhood one-way street with mostly foot traffic BUT also in the middle of everything at Wrightsville Beach. After a grocery run, you can park your car for the remainder of your stay because “all things fun” can be reached on foot. That’s right….the beach, the channel, great eateries, awe-inspiring coffee homes, surf stores, ice cream, supplies, and gifts are all within a 5-9 min walk. It is an outdoor enthusiast “candy store!” Bikes will get you there even faster. If you must drive, we have a WB resident parking pass for your use which accepts you to park right at the beach. What a deal!

Family Animals? $200 pet fee. Rules: 1. One dog only at the discretion of the owner. 2. No aggressive breeds - pit bull, chow, etc... 3. No dogs that bark a lot. We like our neighbors :-). 4. If they need to be on the furnishings, bring your own blankets to keep dirt/hair out of ours.

The Bungalow - Recently modernized: Discover the cozy appeal of this 2 bedroom, 1 ½ bath bungalow with a calming screen porch and outdoor patio. Savor the breezes that blow through as you read a book, have a drink with a friend, or just ponder life. If you happen to visit during a month with an “R”, you must have an oyster roast on the vintage brick patio under trees. There is a cozy living/kitchen/eating area where you can prepare fresh Mahi or Grouper from Motts Seafood, appreciate a glass of wine, or snuggle up to watch a movie. We appreciate the broad window bar that makes us feel as if we are still outdoors. Well-supplied kitchen with blender, toaster, kettle, microwave, and everything needed to prepare. The beds are cozy. Wifi accepts for streaming with Roku. The beds are super comfortable: Queen, 1 twin, and one futon. This home is not the "granite countertop experience, but it is a 1950's style laid-back throw back beach home. Just remodeled to make lighter, brighter, and more comfortable. The painless living and unbeatable location are why people return to the Island Bungalow.

We provide two bicycles. You can rent SUP, kayak, surfboard, and additional bicycles just a few mins. walk. 250 feet from our front door there is public access for simple entry into Bank's channel. You will certainly be able to relax in this comfortable home.

For the Outdoor Enthusiast:
Water sports Reign Supreme: As a naturally gifted water sports hub, WB motivates travelers to maintain an active lifestyle once here. Named in the top 10 surfing towns in the world by National Geographic and the birthplace of surfing in NC, WB attracts both amateurs and experts who catch countless waves here. The many waterways from surf to sound convey a sense of movement everywhere you look. See crystal blue waters from a paddle board or kayak advantage. You can rent a boat, take a cruise, go fishing, or a scuba trip. Sign up for sailing lessons or go surfing camp. Just grab any kind of board or just dive in and get in on the action!
Surf and Paddleboard (SUP) - As one of the premier watersports destinations in the country, it’s a natural place to hold top-ranked surfing competitions and SUP events. There are pro-am surf fests and Wahine Classic surf competitions attracting all levels of female surfers. The Carolina Cup, held every spring, was crowned as one of the world’s five major SUP races. So if it is good enough for the pros, it is good enough for us all. You can even enjoy SUP Yoga in the ICW. For your board needs, there are numerous great surf stores, Aussie Island and Sweetwater in particular, which are 5 min walk.

For the Outdoor Land-lover
We sit on The Loop, a 2.5-mile breathtaking trail that is a well-adored treasure that offers a walking or running experience you won’t find anywhere else. Test your running skills or just walk as you enjoy vistas of Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), Banks Channel, a live oak-lined and shaded path, and handsome salt marshes as you make your way around this magnificent path. While always active but never busy, it is sure to inspire you to move!
WB Park offers four tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, kids' play equipment, obstacle course equipment, and fields to enjoy whatever you prefer. From May-Oct, every Monday the park hosts a FARMERS MARKET Mondays 8 am - 1 pm.

Fishing: From USA Today…
“With two fishing piers and four miles of white sand beaches, the town of Wrightsville Beach is a prime destination for fishing. Wrightsville Beach overlooks the Atlantic Ocean along North Carolina's Outer Banks, and anglers can catch a variety of native and migratory saltwater game fish including summer flounder, speckled sea trout, and Spanish mackerel. Angling opportunities are available year-round.

Downtown Wilmington: Often referred to as “little Charleston” has been a great destination for great eateries, nightlife, NC Battleship, Riverwalk, Cruises, Historical tours, art stores, Cotton Exchange, Gem studios, Horse and Carriage rides, and a complimentary trolley. In the last couple of years, this area has become hot with growth adding Convention Center, Performing Arts Center, Marina, Riverwalk extension, public concerts, and Saturday morning farmers market. Soon there will be a new public park at the new marina. A trip here during your stay is a must….Ask about favorite eateries.

How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. \"Perfect location!\" Ditch the car and walk everywhere! Dogs Yay! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
