Vacation rental home tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Brunswick area area. To find the best value, change your family's Brunswick area vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best vacation rental in Wilmington:

  • Start by having your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Heart Of Wilmington Vacation For You! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
