Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to visit Bald Head Island & When to reserve a Brunswick area rental home:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Brunswick area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Gorgeous 4 Bedroom Home In Cape Fear Station has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
