While we want you to have the best time possible, we do have some home rules that you will need to agree to prior to booking our home.

• Outdoor security cameras are located at the front and back doors. There are no indoor cameras inside the property.

• Check-in time is 4 pm. I will send a keycode to you within 24 hours of your check-in time.

• Check out time is 10 am. Late check outs are not allowed and will result in an additional fee of $100 to be charged against the security deposit.

• Please park your cars in the front yard/driveway of the home. Do NOT drive your cars to the rear of the home or place them on the street.

• This is a smoking and vaping complimentary home. Please do NOT smoke inside or outside of the home. Evidence of smoking or vaping will result in a non-returnable fee of $200 (this will be in addition to the loss of the security deposit).

• No illegal drugs of any kind will be allowed on or inside the property at any time.

• No events or third-event vendors are allowed at the home or in the yard during your stay. Respect peaceful hours and please keep noise to a minimum starting at 11 pm.

• Dogs are allowed at our home with a limit of two dogs. We kindly ask that you keep them off of the furnishings. No cats or other animals of any kind are allowed.

• Please pick up after your dog so that our floors and the next guests’ shoes can stay clean. If your dog messes on the floors in the bedrooms or the living room, please wipe the mess up with paper towels and then spray the Bona wood cleaner over the spot. If they mess in the kitchen, please use the 409 cleaner after you have dried up the mess with paper towels.

Also, for the safety of your dog and others please keep your dog on a leash when they are outside.

• Only the guests that have been listed at the time the reservation was made are allowed at the home. If more guests arrive then are listed on the reservation, you will be asked to leave and your deposit will not be returned.

• Please empty all trashcans prior to checking out.

• We have gorgeous butcherblock counters in the kitchen that we would like to keep looking nice. Please use the cutting boards when making your meals and do not cut food on the countertops.

• Please do not rearrange the furnishings in the home.

• Do not put wipes of any kind – even if they say they are flushable - down the toilet.

• Please do not bring food or drinks (other than water) in the bedrooms.

• All sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels, and kitchen towels need to be placed in the laundry bag and left in the living room. Please leave each bedroom’s comforter on top of the bed.

• Please place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Do NOT start the dishwasher as our cleaning crew will do so when they arrive.

• Grilling, fire pits, fireworks, candles – really anything that involves fire – is not allowed.

• Please do not access the two outdoor sheds as they are for the hosts only.

**cancellation policy for Daydream_Wilmington:
100% refund if canceled 14 days before check-in
50% refund if canceled 7-14 days before check-in
otherwise, no refund

In coastal cities waterbugs are prevalent due to the warm, humid climate. We have an exterminator spray the yard and home quarterly, and even more during the summer.

Daydream_Wilmington was constructed in 1954. We, as owners, felt it was important to keep the authentic character of the home (original doors, doorknobs, wood floors, etc) while completing the renovations. Therefore, some doors might not close conveniently, the floors might squeak, or there could be other modest details you notice during your stay that come with an older home. We hope you appreciate the original, vintage vibe of our home while appreciating the modern updates of today.

Our top Brunswick area vacation rental tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Wilmington. To find the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. cute home close to UNCW has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
