Our top Rental home tips:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

How to pick the perfect rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Cozy beach cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
