How to get the best Oak Island vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming Beachfront Cottage Awaits You! Direct access to beach off deck\/walkway. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
