Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Hemingway Retreat: 2 BR, 2 BA Apartment in Wilmington, Sleeps 4 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
