Finding the best Southport rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Southport. To find the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Candy Store House: Vintage-Wow! Historic Charm Meets Modern Flair Close to Shopp has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
