Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Brunswick area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Blue Fish Shack: 4 Bed\/3 Bath Waterway Home with Private Boat Dock has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
