Tricks and tips to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Barefoot Breezes Luxury Beach Home. Renovated for a Fabulous Family Vacation! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
