Getting the best Oak Island rental home experience:

When to visit Oak Island & When to book:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Brunswick area vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. A Bit O'Heaven: Cheerful Home in Secluded Cul-de-sac with Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
