Bald Head Island Activities
Bald Head Island is a private island where you can only get to by boat or ferry. This is a golf cart only island. Leave your car behind and cruise on the golf cart supplied at the home. The island is roughly 5 by 2 miles. You can bicycle around the island in only an hour or two! Bald Head Island is home to the oldest Lighthouses in North Carolina. There are many nature hikes, wildlife watches, beach accesses, stores, eateries, and activities.

About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is on the beach. Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Bald Head Island. Booking your Brunswick area vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection.
