Our top Vacation rental home tips:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Brunswick area vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2 historic district condos with river-view balconies & highly walkable locale has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
