Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 1 Galway Girl - rate $1295- Sept 7-14th, 9\/14-9\/21 rate $1070! Bring your boat! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
