Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. The Teachers' Lounge at Ocean Isle Beach, Heated Pool w\/ slide, 5 bedroom 5 bathroom, sleeps 14! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
