Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Taylor House has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
