Getting the best Wilmington vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in Wilmington. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the perfect rental home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Spacious & Quiet Vacation Getaway, 15 Min to Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
