Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Reserve your rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect rental in Wilmington:
- First, have your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sea Side Farm House in the heart of everything Wilmington reg. # STL 2019-0113 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
