Strategies to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation property experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Brunswick area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose yourrental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Scenic 3-bedroom apartment with WiFi, AC on Davis Canal in Oak Island. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
