Tricks and tips for getting the best Wilmington rental home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in Wilmington. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the best Brunswick area rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Quiet Home w\/King Bed Near Golf Course and Beach has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
