Rental property booking tips:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect rental home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. On Turtle Time: Modern Oceanfront Home Ideal for Two Couples or Small Families has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
