Tips for getting the best rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by having your group commit to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront beach house on Bald Head Island with stunning views - sleeps 10! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
