Our top Vacation rental tips:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, change your family's Brunswick area vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Brunswick area area:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. “A Wave From It All”Book now and get a Free dose of Vitamin Sea with every stay has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
