Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Full House - 5705 W Beach Drive- Coastal Vacation Resorts has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
