How to get the best rental home experience:

When to reserve a Brunswick area rental & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy 3BR Cottage Sitting on the Waterway! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
