Tips for getting the best Brunswick area rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in Oak Island. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Dog-friendly 2nd-floor home near the beach porch, outdoor shower, huge tub has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
