Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Brunswick area area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Cute! Newly Remodeled Oib Cottage 2nd Row, 3 Blocks From Pier! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
