The aquarium is a great family experience and has different exhibits and events on a regular basis. From the aquarium you can also access tidal marsh trails and savor all of the native wildlife and flora. Take a step back in time and tour the Ft. Fisher history museum and learn about the area’s history during the civil war. Over the winter there is even a live reenactment of the last battle at the fort. In the same area you will find the Ft. Fisher to Southport ferry. It is really fun to take a ride on the ferry for a day trip to historic Southport for some antiquing and lunch on the river. If you enjoy surf fishing you can access the south end of Ft. Fisher from the Ft. Fisher Recreation area by 4 wheel drives or on foot. There is also 4 wheel drive access on the north end of Carolina Beach at Freeman Park. Brunswick area vacation rental booking tips:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your Brunswick area vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Adorable condo with oceanfront balcony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
