Six Digital Intelligent TVs w/DVD players, stereo w/CD & cassette deck, phone, videos, games and books. 6000 square feet with two open living & dining areas, two well supplied gourmet kitchens, dishwasher, two washer and dryers, HVAC, phone and CCTV. Wood, carpet, and tile floors throughout. All interior doorways are 36 in., bathrooms with grab bars at toilets and low-rise shower stalls. Recreational area with four decks (covered and screened), rockers, four swings, picnic tables, charcoal & propane grille. Outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Spectacular, expansive marsh view w/handsome sunsets and good ocean view. Painless Beach Access. Bicycles, Ocean Kayaks, Corn hole (an outdoor game).

Though family pets are not allowed, a dog may occasionally be present during an owner stay for those guests who are allergic to pets.

About the Area

Located on the waterfront, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Oak Island Golf Club and The Reserve Golf Club at St. James Plantation. Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting. Discover the area's water adventures with scuba diving and fishing nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with horse riding and cycling.

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

  • Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
