Tips to get the perfect Ocean Isle Beach rental home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Brunswick area restaurants and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Charming oceanfront cottage has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
