Getting the best Wilmington rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your Brunswick area vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the best vacation home in the Brunswick area area:

  • Start by having your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Waterfront Historic District suite with river-view balcony & walkable locale has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, contact the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
