Tricks and tips to get the best Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Wilmington. Book your Brunswick area vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Charming Condo in Historic Downtown Building has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
