About this Property

  • House boat

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. The Charlotte Jean is a great hideaway from the world. She features a comfortable sleeping area in the front of the boat, couch, galley and dining table that converts to 2nd bed. Located in a peaceful marina on the intracoastal waterway yet only a few min. drive or 10 min. walk to the beach. Watch the sunrise and sunset from the community dock chairs or the top deck of your vacation getaway.

Guests have access to the entire boat, however we do ask guests to use the bathroom facilities in clubhouse adjacent to the dock rather than the bathroom on board.
There are nice, clean bathrooms as well as showers located a 1 min. walk from the boat. Think glamping when considering the Charlotte Jean.

About the Area

Carolina Beach is home to this houseboat. Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a popular attraction and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and Wrightsville Beach. Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also worth visiting.

Strategies for getting the perfect Brunswick area rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your Brunswick area vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Charlotte Jean - 33ft Cozy Carver Mariner- Unique Stay on the Water has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
