Strategies to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking a perfectrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Luxury New Home: Ocean and City Light View Home + Steps to Restaurants sleeps 6 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
