Tips and Tricks to get the best Brunswick area vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Brunswick area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 4 Seasons Getaway has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Brunswick area destination you crave, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
