Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home in Wilmington:

  • Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 2BR\/2BA Cottage centrally located in Midtown has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
